Bumblebee class is a Primary class for children in EYFS, year one and year two. The class teachers are Katie Purkis and Amy McLean. The children are supported by three teaching assistants, Emma Crockett, Jade Christensen-Harvey and Becki Hollingdale.
Our topics this year will include Abracadabra and Carnival of the Animals. We will be encouraging children to take a role in their own learning through choosing the focused text each fortnight.
In Bumblebee class we encourage children to develop their learning through a play based approach as well as group work and 1:1 work. On Monday afternoons children will have an opportunity to take part in forest school which allows them to learn exciting new skills and explore nature. Every other Tuesday morning we will have opportunities to visit the surrounding area on class trips where we will be developing our understanding of how to keep safe when in the local community. On the alternate Tuesdays children will have the opportunity to experience growing a range of fruit and vegetables and using them to make a range of dishes in Grow it, Cook it. Children will also have access to swimming session in our school pool on either a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon.
