As you are aware, the situation regarding the Coronavirus is changing on a daily basis. The school is monitoring this very closely and will implement contingency measures should these be required. Each afternoon we receive daily update information from Public Health England (PHE) and the Department of Education and use this to inform our decision making.
We will endeavour to keep parents and carers informed with any relevant information relating to schools as quickly as possible so please do check the school website / your emails and texts regularly.
As you will be aware the government have issued a number of guidelines regarding steps to take to avoid catching the virus, including what to do should people have travelled from specific countries.
These can be accessed via www.gov.uk/coronavirus
I would ask that everyone in our community follows this advice. I would also ask that you only take account of official school communication about the particular circumstances of school. Rumour, speculation and inaccurate information shared on social media spreads panic and causes undue stress which we want to avoid.
If the circumstances at school change I will of course notify you all. For example, should staffing levels make it unsafe to open specific classes then parents in the specific classes affected will be notified either by text or phone call. Therefore, please do ensure that we have your most up to date contact information at school. At this stage all classes are running normally and it is very much ‘business as usual’ at school.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
