20th March 2020
Thank you to you all for speaking with us over the last couple of days. The support you have given has been much appreciated. Using the information you have provided us with we have been able to plan for all the children who require a space. I must stress that this is as things currently stand. As we explained on the phone the plan will have to flex and alter as staffing levels and government advice changes.
For those of you who required a space you will receive a brief text shortly that says this. If you do not receive a text do not send your children to school on Monday.
For those of you who are socially distancing, we will be in touch with you soon. We do hope you find the work we sent home and on line useful. We will do our best to add to this over time.
For those of you whose children are recovering we wish them well soon.
Our plan has been logistically tricky and we may have made mistakes. So if you were expecting a text and don’t get one please do contact us on Monday and we will do our best to rectify this. Please can you do this after 9 am as we need to explain to the staff where they will be working, set up and then familiarise the children here with a new routine.
Over the coming week we will be working out how we can keep in touch with you, support you and work with you to ensure the children have the best and safest time in these difficult circumstances be that at school or at home.
To help you explain the situation to the children we have produced a number of social stories for you to use. Some children will have had this already. We will get these to the remainder of you as soon as possible next week.
Thank you again for working with us, for your kindness and thoughtfulness. At Palatine we have demonstrated true community spirit in these challenging times, in our tears and our smiles. Have a restful weekend.
I wish you all the very best in the coming weeks.
