3rd July 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

You should all have received a letter today in regards to your son or daughter’s class teacher next year and transition arrangements. Please do contact school if you have not got this information. At times such as this rumour, speculation and social media discussions can increase stress and anxiety. I do ask that you contact school through official channels and respect the privacy of others.  Thank you.

Within this morning’s letter I said we hadn’t got advice from the government as yet. We received that information yesterday after Carol had prepared all the letters for distribution!  We have a 38 page guidance document specific to special schools for us to work through. I am pleased they have thought about special schools and recognise that some things will be different for our pupils. We will plan according to this and be in contact with you once we have finalised our arrangements. I have received advice from local government today that some of the information within the government’s plans may alter next week but rest assured we will do our very best to have a comprehensive plan for the start of September.

  • Thursday 9th July: new family welcome day: school will not be open to other children on this day
  • Friday 10th July: Year 6’s celebration day

Year 6 pupils will come with their parents at their allotted time. We look forward to seeing you to celebrate your son or daughter’s time with us at Palatine.

To ensure safe social distancing school will not be open to other children on these days.

Thank you so much for your continuing warm and positive messages and support. At this very busy time your kindness and appreciation has helped us a great deal and I can’t thank you enough.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any further help.

Have a lovely weekend
