5th January 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

The children have settled back into the routine of school well. It has been lovely to see how happy they are to be in school, enjoying their learning and seeing their friends. In one class, children starting their forest school sessions used tools safely. In another class, children enjoyed turning the blender on and off as part of their technology learning and chopping up citrus fruits. One child is using their words more often to express their needs and another sat in their chair and joined in for the whole ‘hello’ session. Children are making better transitions around school too. We are excited to see what they will learn and progress in over the course of this term.

Attendance Focus

Best attendance for the last week of term:

Explorers Hub – Polar Bear and Peacock class both with 100%

Investigators Hub – Gecko class

Engineers Hub – Sloth class

Please remember to call the school absence line on each day of your child’s absence; there is the facility to leave a voicemail message outside of school hours.

Daily News

Following feedback from parents, carers and teachers, the Daily News home/school communication has been updated. The notable changes are the size – it is now A4, making it easier to read as well as a double blank page after each day to allow plenty of additional space for comments. We will start using the new books next week.

Safeguarding Spotlight

At Palatine, we aim to prepare our children for a future in a world which is shaped by technology.  The online world provides many opportunities, however, it also presents risks and challenges. Each month we send out an Online Safety Newsletter with updates to keep children safe online. Attached to the Parents’ Letter sent via Bromcom is the Online Safety Newsletter for January.

The sign of the week is tidy up!

Have a lovely weekend.

Very best wishes,
