1st March 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

In this last week of winter, the children have continued to do some great learning. There has been lots of progress in creative learning this week. Some pupils used glue spreaders to create some beautiful paintings. For a number of classes, some of their literacy and creative learning has been around the story of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and they have been acting out the different characters, participating in sensory stories and role-playing scenarios. Other children have been developing their construction skills through making items related to the different biomes they have been studying and others in making Easter baskets. Others have been exploring different textures. Within PE one class have been learning to run and jump safely. Another child has increased in confidence in the pool and is focussing really well on learning to move in the water. A number of children are working hard on trying to increase the range of food they will eat, and two children finished their spaghetti bolognaise! Finally, many children have made progress in their communication skills this week. One child was able to repeat the sentence, ‘I want bubbles please’ and another said ‘please’. Another asked for the toilet using their communication device and another has been communicating well with signs and words (they also chose to extend their learning when they had finished the original set task!). One child has been giving increased eye contact.
