New Build Extension

Up to date details on the New Build

  • This is not a school run project. It is a West Sussex County Council Project. Our school business manager, Jacqueline McGregor, is our point of contact with them.
  • The contractors Sunninghill will be installing their compound during the May half term.
  • The site will be secure behind fencing
  • The car park to the left of school will be out of use because this is where the site compound will be housed.
  • All contractors will park off site and have a separate pedestrian entrance to the site.

Letter from Sunninghill to the Neighbours

Dear Neighbour,

We are pleased to inform you that works are progressing very well. The substructure works and external drainage have been completed. Steel columns are erected and masonry is nearing its finished level. Photos are attached for you to see! Over the coming weeks, works on the superstructure masonry will continue, and the construction of the roof structure will start to take place.

We appreciate your continued patience and co-operation to date and hope that, overall, the noise and disruption hasn’t been too inconvenient. There will continue to be some construction traffic and associated noise for the duration of the build, for which we apologise. If any of our activities cause on-going inconvenience, or you have any further queries, please contact the site manager, Charlie Farmer on 07540 313430. Please look to the information board for continued updates on site works.

We’re pleased to inform you that we scored a brilliant 40/45 for our Considerate Constructors Scheme inspection! This means we are performing at a very high standard to respect the community, care for the environment, and value our workforce. For more information about the scheme, feel free to visit their website: www.ccscheme.org.uk.

We would like to highlight again that no unauthorised personnel or members of the public are permitted access on the construction site at any time. We make our sites as secure as possible using hoarding and fencing, but we would very much appreciate your assistance by contacting us or the Police should you notice any unauthorised activity within the confines of our site outside normal working hours.

As a company, we are aware of our environmental responsibilities and would like to inform you that we have currently recycled 86% of our total waste produced! We will continue to work to improve our environmental policies and reduce our effect on the environment wherever possible.

We would also like to let you know that we have put root protection zones into place that will be present through the life of the project, with a view of implementing plenty of soft landscaping works including some shrub and grass planting prior to completion.

Lastly, we would like to again draw your attention to the fact that there is a very serious skills shortage in the construction industry. If you, or someone you know, are interested in a career in construction we would like to direct you to the ‘Go Construct’ website: www.goconstruct.org and #loveconstruction where you will find more information.

Yours faithfully,

Sunninghill Construction Co. Limited
