The South Downs SCITT provides School Based Training in collaboration with the University of Chichester which is an outstanding University.   It provides a true partnership between 15 schools in order to provide the very best training.  You will have access to the facilities at the University and the facilities in the schools.  You will have a day each week working with other trainees to reflect and develop your practice and four days each week training on the job working with the young people in our locality.  We provide a high quality cross phase and bespoke training programme which is full time for one year and commences in September.  Upon successful completion of your training you will be awarded Qualified Teacher Status.  You will also receive a Post Graduate Certificate of Education from The University of Chichester.  You will teach across two consecutive age ranges/phases and experience teaching in at least two contrasting schools as well as completing a 1 week placement in Special Needs.  Some of our training programmes are located in Special Needs Schools: Oak Grove College (Primary and Secondary) and Palatine School (Primary).  You will be provided with a laptop for the length of your training.

Applications through UCAS will be to The Angmering School
A1703 (1KX) as Lead School at:

You can also apply directly to The South Downs SCITT A2569 (2AZ) for places in Primary (2WMY), Chemistry (2WMZ), English (2WN2), Mathematics (2WN3) and Physics (2WMY).  We will find placements for you rather than you stating a preference.
