In our classroom we support the children to work on their communication and social skills through independent learning sessions, as well as during playtime. The children read with an adult every day along with phonics sessions first thing in the morning. The children all receive daily speech and language input as well as tailored programs specific to their needs, such as O.T., hearing impairment, continence team and physio. The children have forest school every Wednesday and go out into the dedicated forest school area, no matter the weather. We will be swimming during the spring term.

We use the Zones of Regulation to support children to express how they feel and also to empower them with resolving disputes and conflicts. We regularly practice our life skills within the community, such as road safety and how to stay safe in public.

Our topic this term is ‘Back To The Future.’ Through this we have been looking at the 20th century and all the wonderful inventions, clothing, art and music for each of the decades. We have explored artifacts from each decades as well as being supported with our learning through trips, like going to Amberley Working Museum.
